BREAKING: Violence Breaks Out Between Political Groups at Texas State

Today at Texas State University, students accosted a member of the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) on campus, taking his hat and pushing him to the ground. Police removed at least one handcuffed person from the scene.

Tyler Minor, a member of YCT at Texas State University in San Marcos, was wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat in front of a group of students. Individuals identified as members of the Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) allegedly snatched the hat from his head, according to a Facebook post by YCT. Minor attempted to retrieve the hat and was then pushed to the ground by a currently unidentified man.

Video livestreamed by YCT-Texas State member Sebastian Quaid shows police removing at least one person from the scene.

This article will be updated as more verifiable information becomes available.

  1. oh noooo!!! It must have been so frightening for this poor unsuspecting dumbass to be judged and lashed out against only for who he is or what he was wearing!!! I wonder if other groups of people face such persecution every day like me……

Just kidding, none of you posess the reason or empathy to draw a conclusion like that. I’ll do it for you!

Facing reprisal for walking around with an ‘i hate women and brown people, and also I have no capacity for self awareness’ beacon atop your head is not only just and much deserved, it’s also NOT a violation of your first amendment rights. The government can’t waterboard you for being a dumbass, but your peers certainly can (not literally, of course, unless you really have it coming). Other people, millions on millions of them, deal with the exact kind of anxiety and fear of judgement or harm that this poor little skinhead did. Those people are dealing with institutionalized oppression, but they aren’t wearing “punch me, I’m a nazi” hats. They’re just people. The kid you’re talking about, by virtue of his attire, *is* either a nazi or a nazi sympathizer (between which morally there isn’t much difference), and not only did he deserve the reprisal he got, he probably also learned something neat: Unlike millions of other people, he could have just taken off the hat.

You’re not oppressed. Stop wearing those stupid fucking hats.
